The owners of Vancouver Island real estate development Crown Isle hope to pave the way for more construction and more jobs by subdividing commercially-zoned land north of Ryan Road in Courtenay.
The commercial property is across the road from the residential real estate development and golf resort.
Silver Sand Land Corporation has applied to the City of Courtenay to create two commercial lots from the property.
“Consistent with council’s approval in December last year of the consolidation and shift in the location of employment zones in Crown Isle to the area north of Ryan Road near Crown Isle Boulevard and Silverdale Crescent, before you is a development variance permit related to a subdivision application, which we’re confident will be the next step in bringing additional retail and related employment to the Comox Valley,” Richard Cook of Jorden Cook and Associates recently told City Council on behalf of Silver Sand Land Corp.
