Crown Isle Adding New 60-Lot Residential Subdivision on the North Side of Ryan Road in Courtenay

Homes by Crown Isle CourtenayBuilding Links is reporting that Silverado Land Corp., the owners of the Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community, have submitted plans to the City of Courtenay to construct a new residential subdivision behind Costco in Courtenay.

This new Crown Isle subdivision will be located across Ryan Road from the existing residential community. Sixty new lots are planned for this area, which will include a berm and a greenway separating the new subdivision from the existing commercial buildings.

Crown Isle is broadening their building scheme for this new development and they are working with the City of Courtenay to allow for the addition of secondary suites and carriage homes on selected lots within the new subdivision.

The new scheme will allow for homes starting at t 1,250 square feet and the lot prices are expected to range from approximately $149,000 to $169,000. This land is currently zoned commercial and they are requesting that the land be zoned residential. A public hearing is expected to be held in the next few months.

The Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community is an established master-planned neighbourhood with nearly 1,000 residential units built over the past 20 years. At the core of the community is a championship 18-hole golf course and resort centre. The existing Comox Valley neighbourhood has a variety of lots for sale, including those in Hampton Gate, a new, gated single family residential community.
